Duterte on Terrorists: I will be harsh!
“I will be harsh”. This was the statement of President Rodrigo Duterte in the video posted in MOCHA USON BLOG (Facebook Page) when being interviewed regarding the Marawi siege.

The president went to Russia to meet with Russian Federation President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister Dmitri Medvedev. The President was able to meet and discussed the matters with Putin.

Upon the explosion of the issue about  terrorist’s siege in Marawi City, the public clamored for rescue and the city is now in a very dangerous situation. President Duterte decided to leave earlier than planned to face the current situation in Mindanao.

He said, “Mga kababayan natin, do not be too scared. I am going home, I am cutting my visit here to be with my countrymen and I will deal with the problem once I arrived. But let me just tell everybody that I have declared Martial Law for Mindanao.”

The president also said that if it will take a year to do it, then he will do it, but he said that he will be happier if it will be resolved within a month.

But the president warned, “Pero ang martial law is martial law, hah? So kayong mga kababayan ko experienced martial law, it could not be any different to what the President Marcos did. I’ll be harsh.” President Duterte recalled during the campaign when he was asked how would he deal with terrorism and he said that he will be harsh. He added that before, he warned everybody, “Do not force my hand to it (dealing with terrorism).”

The president said that he has to do it to preserve the Republic of the Philippines and for the Filipino people.
